Who is Josh Me Vs I?

Me%20Vs%20I

I think it was last summer when I first met Josh/Mvi. I was hustling my CD's on Hollywood Blvd. and up walks this skinny, white boy with a guitar in his hands. His eyes are covered by a vintage pair of ray bans, and the almost full sleeve of tattoos that he has now, was then in its beginning stages.
Honestly, at that time he looked one step from homeless, but if he was, you would have never been able to tell. His demeanor was so cool and calm, like that of an old soul or hippie. He watched me hustle for a few minutes, then he asked if I was a rapper. I told him "yeah" and he asked if I wanted to jam. I'm always down for a freestyle so he started playing this funky melody and singing and I instantly felt a connection with this dude. To me, his voice is one of a kind, it's silky smooth at times and then out of nowhere he explodes with this rage, and fearless power, and rawness you just don't expect or see from too many new artist these days.
I think all his music is unmistakeable original, it makes you feel something and that's what I respect the most. You get a peek of this guy in my mix tape video "feelin' it". Over time we have become good friends and two soldiers of the same struggle. I watched his hard work start to pay off with his recent release, and string of shows all around So-Cal. I haven't got the chance to catch one yet, but I'm sure it's something I'll be updating you more on in the future. Please check out his music and videos across his growing social platform. Josh, my man, I just wanted to let you know that I'm proud of you homie, and I wish you the best.

What Am I Thinking About Right Now?

I've been struggling to find content and meaningful topics to write about, so I decided what I want to do is start writing reviews and giving weekly shout outs to indie musicians, outstanding fans, and up-and-coming entrepreneurs that I have made a connection with or been inspired by. I want to be as open as I can with you, and sharing my thought process as I develop as a blogger. I figured the best way to help myself is to help others, and by using this platform to showcase their talents--I'm hoping to give my readers a better sense of who I am. With all this being said, I thank you for your support and patience. Please look out for the new shout outs and if you'd like to be the first, hit me up. Post will be out starting this Monday.

How to Build Your Own Recording Studio?

So for the longest time I've been running from the idea of building my own studio. Since I live in Hollywood, and this place is crawling with producers and engineers, I thought the best way to go was to rent out studio time and get all my tracks mixed and mastered in the same place. This being my state of mind because I don't know my way around the studio equipment all that well yet. However, if you spend enough time networking in Hollywood, you'll quickly find that most starving artist like myself are just starting out and don't have the resources to hold a stable living situation let alone build a studio, So I guess I'll invest in myself. Today I received this MXL 990 microphone in the mail, it's officially the first peace to what will soon be my own studio. The microphone was originally priced at $199.99 but paid only $59.99 at  http://www.musiciansfriend.com/  they have great deals and a speedy shipping process.
I'll try and keep u filled in as I get peace by peace until I'm up and recording.

How Do I Become a Good Blogger?

This video was very inspiring to me. As you can see--my blogging skills need work. Haha. Every thing that I'm doing with my life as far as building my platform and brand as an artist and entrepreneur is a never ending, ever evolving, learning experience. Very much like one big experiment. Honestly I stared this blog because it just made sence and was a necessary stepping stone to get to where I see myself in the future. A big part of my dream is to be an outlet and a voice to people who feel like i do, people that are asking the same questions I am, and come from places I did, where computer literacy just kinda skipped a generation or two, and the term social media is still very fuzzy to most people anyway. With that being said, right now I know just as much about blogging as you do, and I think I'm the hitt or miss blogger that Michael is talking about in the video. Haha.
