I think it was last summer when I first met Josh/Mvi. I was hustling my CD's on Hollywood Blvd. and up walks this skinny, white boy with a guitar in his hands. His eyes are covered by a vintage pair of ray bans, and the almost full sleeve of tattoos that he has now, was then in its beginning stages.
Honestly, at that time he looked one step from homeless, but if he was, you would have never been able to tell. His demeanor was so cool and calm, like that of an old soul or hippie. He watched me hustle for a few minutes, then he asked if I was a rapper. I told him "yeah" and he asked if I wanted to jam. I'm always down for a freestyle so he started playing this funky melody and singing and I instantly felt a connection with this dude. To me, his voice is one of a kind, it's silky smooth at times and then out of nowhere he explodes with this rage, and fearless power, and rawness you just don't expect or see from too many new artist these days.
I think all his music is unmistakeable original, it makes you feel something and that's what I respect the most. You get a peek of this guy in my mix tape video "feelin' it". Over time we have become good friends and two soldiers of the same struggle. I watched his hard work start to pay off with his recent release, and string of shows all around So-Cal. I haven't got the chance to catch one yet, but I'm sure it's something I'll be updating you more on in the future. Please check out his music and videos across his growing social platform. Josh, my man, I just wanted to let you know that I'm proud of you homie, and I wish you the best.
